The Ottawa Hospital Foundation celebrates the employees of Thermo Fisher Scientific for their long-standing support of patient care and research
Since 2003, employees at Thermo Fisher Scientific have raised nearly $200,000 and helped transform patient care at The Ottawa Hospital through their support of various Hospital initiatives including: The Eye Institute Research Equipment Fund, The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre as well as the Centre for Innovative Cancer Research. Thermo Fisher Scientific has also generously donated a number of their pieces of equipment to our labs. In addition, they have hosted two Amazing Race events in support of cancer research where employees, family and friends spent a fun day competing in challenges while raising money for their community.
In October 2012, The Ottawa Hospital Foundation was proud to present Thermo Fisher Scientific with an award for Outstanding Employee Campaign at the annual Behind the Scenes event.
Their 2012 campaign saw employees rally together to support ground breaking research in Regenerative Medicine at the OttawaHospital. These funds will be directed to the research of Dr. Rudnicki, Senior Scientist and the Director of the Regenerative Medicine Program and the Sprott Centre for Stem Cell Research. Dr Rudnicki and his laboratory are currently working to understand the molecular mechanisms involved with stem cells during embryonic development and tissue regeneration.
Thank you Thermo Fisher Scientific for your ongoing and unprecedented support!
