IT/NET supporting of Cancer Care as part of the White Coat Challenge

Through the 2012-13 White Coat Challenge, IT/NET and other Ottawa area businesses are fundraising for cancer care at The Ottawa Hospital. Their goal is to collectively raise funds to purchase new computer software for the CyberKnife; the world’s first and only robotic radiosurgery system, offering pain-free, non-invasive treatment for cancer patients.

The new CyberKnife software will:

  • reduce radiation treatment times by roughly 30%
  • potentially increase the number of Cyberknife patients seen annually by 50%
  • means faster treatments for patients, allowing their life to return to normal more quickly

Last year, IT/NET and other White Coat Challenge companies, collectively raised $121,146 to equip a chemotherapy treatment bay at the Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre. “We are proud of the way these businesses and their staff answered the call to help The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre continue to provide excellent care to patients currently receiving cancer treatment,” said Tim Kluke, President and CEO of The Ottawa Hospital Foundation.

Help the employees of IT/NET reach their goal of improving the lives of those affected by cancer, and support their campaign today!
